Bold Common Sense

WHY I’M RUNNING

How does a leader be bold in Berkeley? By turning down the noise and uniting all of us around common sense solutions.

That’s why I’m running for Mayor.

Our city faces big challenges – around housing, safety, education, aging, and more. Our government struggles with issues of accountability and transparency that are holding us back. Our leaders too often listen to the loudest voices, and the rest of us are drowned out.

I learned politics the nonpartisan way – as a leader in the League of Women Voters. I was the youngest and first woman of color elected President of the League of Women Voters of Berkeley, Albany, and Emeryville. I worked to unite our community by strengthening democracy, engaging voters, and advocating for common-sense policies.

In the proudest tradition of Berkeley, I fight for what I believe in. I fight for people who are not being heard. But I’ve learned that everything doesn’t need to be a fight. We need to work together to build a better Berkeley.

Please join me!

Let’s be bold – by coming together to make real progress for all Berkeleyans.
